Baltimore used to be a major brewery town. All of the big names disappeared years ago, but the tap appears to be opening again... The new Peabody Heights Brewery is located on land that was once one of the earlier Oriole Park baseball fields, on the edge of what is now known as Charles Village, near Waverly. In recent years the site was a busy bottling facility for soft drinks. However, when that company left, the facility was found to be ideal for brewing beer. Not counting the brew pub chains that come and go, Peabody Heights Brewery is one of the
first breweries to open within the city limits in over 30 years, and its owners make the space available for special events and tastings.
